Each of us has an inner warrior. When we require courage and strength to walk through our everyday firefights we must be able to rely upon the leadership of a well-disciplined internal warrior to light our pathways into wellness. Fire-walker Louise Sutherland-Hoyt will walk you through your battlefields and show you how to discover, engage, and deploy your most powerful inner resource, your own internal warrior. You and your organization can learn from Louise how to be active trailblazers as you pursue your life’s mission.
For the better part of two decades, Louise has been enlightening communities, agencies, students, groups, and individuals in how to apply trauma-Informed practices through grief, the addictions, depression, and self-care. Her five and a half years of Army service during the Vietnam era has provided her with the insight and passion to be a highly effective teacher and advocate for those ready to tap into the assets of their internal warriors.
A licensed Psychotherapist and Master Addictions Counselor, Louise is an expert in the field of Childhood Complex Trauma and how it can impair our ability to navigate adversity, especially in grieving and the effects of combat trauma. She is passionate about her work and has been nationally recognized for her advocacy in public policy concerning mental health care, especially for Veterans and the elderly. Walking the talk, Louise provides weekend workshops and retreats on grief and how to tend to our broken hearts and live fully with our losses. She is the current president of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association and serves as clinical advisor with My Warrior’s Place in Ruskin Florida.
