Unique Expertise as Elected Official, Veteran & National Security Professor
Dr. Casey Lucius is the founder and CEO of Launch Learning Systems in Naples, Florida focusing on strategic planning and succession management for municipalities, non-profits, and private industry professionals. From 2008-2016, Dr. Lucius served as a Professor of National Security at the Naval War College. She also was elected to the Pacific Grove City Council from 2012-2016. In 2016 Dr. Lucius was the first and only woman to run for the U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 20th District.
Dr. Lucius also lived in Hanoi, Vietnam for three years where she worked at the U.S. Embassy. While in Vietnam, she conducted research and published a book about political decision making in Vietnam. She also worked for the U.S. State Department as the Chief of Staff to the U.S. Ambassador.
Casey is a Navy veteran and worked as a Naval Intelligence Officer. She holds a Master’s Degree in National Security Affairs and a Ph.D. in Political Science.

Dr. Lucius refers the Oxford Handbook of Business and Government and encourages Corporate Social Responsibility. She takes this otherwise serious topic and makes it humorous by telling stories of her time as an elected official and examples of local businesses taking on projects that otherwise would have been done by government. This one-day workshop starts with a learning style inventory by David Kolb. We discuss Lincoln’s leadership style and his cabinet selections, and debate the advantages of diversifying your team and including those who will challenge and grow you as a leader. Excellent workshop that will encourage attendees to understand their own learning and communications style, and tools to improve how they lead and manage others.

This half-day workshop utilizes the Project Management Institute’s five-step process and their nine knowledge areas.
