I asked Diane to speak with my organization about the benefits that diversity brings to both the corporate and government domains. Knowing her intellect and passion for the subject, I had hoped she would stimulate dialogue among my team but I was not expecting the tremendous, positive impact her talk had on my organization. Her message was focused, witty, and exceedingly well received. She challenged us to grow and we did. It has been over a year since she spoke with us and my inspired team is still successfully working to broaden the background of our workforce. Diane’s work has made us a more productive, efficient, and happier group. We frequently refer to her powerful message as we develop our workforce. Her influence on my team was so beneficial that I recommended to my higher headquarters that she be asked to speak at their annual senior management leadership symposium. She knocked it out of the park in that intense forum as well.
Diane was a guest speaker and mentor in a week-long course I run and she was an invaluable asset the entire week. She presented one particularly challenging topic related to a complicated and important set of administrative and bureaucratic Navy Reserve processes, which most people don’t truly understand but wish they did. Diane’s presentation was engaging, clear, and she masterfully tied everything together in a way people understood. Her use of specific examples was critical to drawing out points that are normally overlooked due to complexity of the material. Her presentation style and commentary also encouraged thoughtful questions and discussion during the presentation, which amplified the overall learning. I would highly recommend Diane as a presenter on any topic she feels comfortable presenting. She clearly puts significant time and strategy into her presentation so it will resonate best with the audience. I hope to have her present in my course again, on the same topic or others.
